In my mind, few photos that I've seen recently embody the general concept of this page as much as the one above.  I ran across it in my Internet travels but  subsequently lost it.  I was easily able to find it again by googling "fat man in chair."   Isn't technology a grand thing?!

On Old Hippos

Last week the internet reached out and told me that the world’s oldest zoo-born hippopotamus had passed away in Europe. At the time of its death it was sixty-one years old. I sit here reflecting upon the fact that I am now older than every single zoo-born hippo in the world.

What exactly is going on with the fried egg icon that I use throughout this site?  A few years ago I was taking a course in using Adobe Illustrator.  I came home from class one night inspired, got myself creatively intoxicated and decided to stay up all night until I figured out how to design a fried egg.
